Beautiful Food

All menus are created using only the best in locally sourced ingredients. There is a wide variety of menu options available to suit all appetites and budgets. 

The comfortable lounge area has traditional beams and a limestone featured oak bar offering a full range of wines, beers and spirits. Local real ales are supplied from Ulverston Brewery featuring Laurel and Hardy classic ales, our wine is supplied from The Porterage Co, Greenodd. 

Dizzy – the fizzy beetle! Located in The Secret Garden with a festoon lit Pergola this sun trap has a special secret! A converted Volkswagen Beetle … Containing 2 bar taps, it’s the drinks dispenser on wheels! Drinks can be served direct to guests from the Beetle – these can be first drinks at a wedding or for a drinks reception at the beginning of a formal event.   

Homecooked Food

We pride ourselves on homecooked food, our kitchen team is looked after by Nicola who has been involved in food preparation with us for over 20 years. Pastries and cakes are all homemade and freshly baked, local meats are prepared in our butcher’s department and home roasted, all sausage is made in house using traditional techniques, shrimps are sourced from our local fisherman Ray from Porters Fresh Shrimps who we can watch from our kitchen out on the Morecambe Bay sands and potatoes from neighboring farmers – the Crayston’s locally known as Furness Premium Potatoes. 

When something is fresh, local and beautifully presented it tastes delicious too! Traditional afternoon teas, celebratory buffets, themed sharing platters, cheese and meat boards can all be served in several ways – casual buffet style where guests come up and choose what they would like or we can serve direct to the tables for a more formal style of dining. Perhaps you’re just looking for a selection of delicious canapes and some fancy fizz! A traditional hot pot supper? Or if you have something specific in mind we can create a totally bespoke menu for you … it would be great to meet up and have a chat about menu options for your event.
